About Nate
Nathan J Vaughan is a digital storyteller and podcast producer. He helps lighten the load of content creation so his clients can focus on what’s most important–serving their community with fresh, compelling content that educates and entertains.
Born and raised in southern Kentucky, in an interfaith Jewish family, Nate moved to Boston in 2011 where he remains true to his southern roots as an avid fan of Bluegrass music and Kentucky basketball. He has spent the past decade helping nonprofits raise millions for causes ranging from mentoring at-risk youth to housing America’s most vulnerable seniors.
A piece of my journey…
When I was a senior in high school, I soloed “I Have a Little Dreidel” on the xylophone for my school band’s “Holiday Concert.” After years of suffering through concerts like these, playing “Jingle Bells” and “Silent Night,” I was desperate to make sure something other than Christmas music was represented, and “The Dreidel Song” became my protest song.
A few years ago I shared this story at a story-slam organized by Combined Jewish Philanthropies and Hebrew College’s Eser program, and hosted by Mamaleh’s Delicatessen in Cambridge, MA. My story was one out of more than a dozen shared that night about people’s personal Jewish journeys. I’m excited to share it with you here, and I hope you enjoy.
If you can relate, send me an email! I’d love to hear about your journey too. And if you want to hear more about my childhood growing up in southern Kentucky, the child of an interfaith Jewish family, check out the podcast I’m producing with my mother, 72 Miles.
